Indian Navy SSC Officer Recruitment – January 2027 (ST 27)

The Indian Navy (Nausena Bharti) has released the official notification for the Short Service Commission (SSC) Officers – January 2027 (ST 27) Course. Applications are invited from eligible unmarried men and women for the grant of SSC in various Executive, Education, and Technical branches. The course will commence at the Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala, Kerala, in January 2027.

Physical & Medical Standards

  • Candidates must meet Indian Navy medical standards (height, weight, eyesight, tattoos, etc.).
  • Special medical standards apply for Pilot, Observer, and Submarine entries.
  • Details are available on the official website

Training & Commission

  • Training will commence at INA Ezhimala, Kerala, in January 2027.
  • Candidates will be commissioned in the rank of Sub Lieutenant after successful completion of training.
  • Only unmarried candidates are eligible for training.
  • Probation Period: 2 years for all branches

Important Provisions

  • NCC ‘C’ Certificate holders (with minimum ‘B’ grade) get 5% relaxation in cut-off marks for SSB shortlisting.
  • Merchant Navy and CPL holders have separate age and eligibility provisions.
  • Backlog in any subject at the time of SSB will lead to rejection.
  • Candidates must select branch preferences carefully; unselected branches will not be considered.
